The idea for Stop Revising the Deck™ came from an investor deck I was helping a client build.
There was a lot at stake and a plenty of opinion in the room. The team was experienced, worked well together and genuinely wanted the best outcome.
But every morning at our 8 a.m. stand-up, someone arrived with a new Claude, Gemini or ChatGPT framework, template, headline list or recommendation. Suddenly, we were rehashing a slide I thought we had put to bed the night before.
I’m good at this. It was still breaking my brain trying to keep everyone moving toward the deadline.
So I started building tools to help us distinguish a real unresolved issue from one more plausible AI-generated alternative, make the call and close the work.
That became Stop Revising the Deck™.
I’m building it for other people responsible for getting consequential work finished, especially when everyone involved is smart, committed and capable of generating one more good idea. Let me know what you think.
